What is the price for your Maine Coon kitten?

Kitten pricing is based on color, size, facial structure, coat quality, and temperament. Each kitten is evaluated individually as they grow, and priced accordingly.

Our pet prices range from $2,700 to $5,000 depending on the kitten’s type and personality.

With Breeding Rights, prices start from $4,500.

Shipping costs are not included in the kitten’s price.

Do you have a Waiting List?

Yes, we maintain an exclusive waiting list for future Maine Coon kittens. To reserve a spot, a $500 deposit is required. This deposit will be applied toward the final sale price of the kitten you choose.

Once a new litter is born, we will contact all waiting list members in the order deposits were received. If you choose not to select a kitten from the current litter, your deposit will be transferred to the next available one. You may remain on the list for as long as needed and pass on as many litters as you wish.

Your position on the waiting list remains secure and can only move up. If, within 12 months, you do not choose a kitten and decide to leave the list, we will refund 50% of your deposit ($250). The other half is retained as a service fee.

We accept Zelle, Cash App, Venmo (friends & family only), and cash. PayPal is accepted as donation only.

Can I visit your cattery and see all the cats and kittens?

Yes, you're welcome to visit our cattery and meet our Maine Coon kittens, provided they are at least 8 weeks old. You’ll also have the opportunity to see some of our stunning breeding adults in person.

Please note that a $150 visiting fee applies. If you move forward with the adoption, this fee will be credited toward the deposit or purchase price of your kitten.

This policy allows us to protect the peaceful home environment of our cats and ensure that visits are limited to serious, committed families who are genuinely interested in adoption.

Why do you charge a $150 visiting fee?

At Royal Maine Coon Cattery, we charge a $150 visiting fee to ensure a safe, personalized, and high-quality experience for families who are seriously interested in adopting a purebred Maine Coon kitten.

This fee helps us maintain a clean, low-stress home environment for our cats, cover preparation time, and reduce unnecessary traffic. It also filters out casual visitors, allowing us to focus on committed families who want to meet our TICA-registered Maine Coon kittens.

The fee will be credited toward your kitten’s purchase price if you move forward with adoption.

What is the process to adopt and reserve a Maine Coon kitten?

Adopting a purebred Maine Coon kitten from Royal Maine Coon Cattery is a personalized process built on trust, structure, and commitment. Here's how it works:

1. Submit an Application

Start by filling out our online [Application Form]. This helps us ensure that our kittens are placed in the most suitable and loving homes.

2. Get Approved

Once your application is approved, you’ll be invited to reserve a kitten or join the waiting list.

3. Place a 50% Deposit

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to reserve your chosen kitten. We accept Zelle, Cash App, Venmo (friends & family only), Cash, and PayPal (donations only).

What if I change my mind or no longer want my kitten? Can I get my deposit back?

All deposits placed with Royal Maine Coon Cattery are strictly non-refundable, under any circumstances.

Once a purebred Maine Coon kitten is reserved, we remove it from availability and turn away other families. This is a firm commitment. Deposits will not be refunded if you change your mind, if your situation changes, or even if the kitten develops a treatable health condition.

Please understand that a kitten is a living being, and during its growth, unexpected things can happen that are outside of our control — just like with any living creature.

In the rare event that a kitten passes away in our cattery before pickup, the deposit will not be refunded, but may be transferred to another kitten or future litter, depending on availability and at our discretion.

We kindly ask you to be fully certain and committed before placing a deposit.

What is included in the kitten’s price?

Every purebred Maine Coon kitten from Royal Maine Coon Cattery comes with:

Feline Distemper (FVRCP) Vaccine
Rabies Vaccine (mandatory for all kittens)
Spay/Neuter (mandatory for pet kittens only)

A small bag of Royal Canin Kitten dry food
Toy starter pack (familiar toys from our home)
One-year genetic health guarantee and two-year HCM guarantee

Please note: Kittens sold as pets will be spayed or neutered before leaving our cattery. Kittens purchased with breeding rights will not be altered.

Can you ship or deliver my kitten?

Yes! At Royal Maine Coon Cattery, we offer safe and convenient Maine Coon kitten delivery options across the U.S.

You can either pick up your kitten in person or choose from our trusted shipping and transportation services:

Self-pickup (Westminster, MD Area): Free of charge
Local delivery (within 25 miles of Westminster, MD): $250
Cargo shipping: from $700
In-cabin delivery with flight nanny (hand delivery): from $1,000

Important Information:

All kitten shipping fees must be paid in full before the service is scheduled.

Shipping and delivery costs are not included in the base price of your purebred Maine Coon kitten.

We do not ship kittens in extreme weather conditions or via unsafe methods.

Our priority is your kitten’s comfort and safety throughout the delivery process.

I have allergies to cats. Are Maine Coons hypoallergenic? Can I visit to see how I react?

Maine Coons are not hypoallergenic. While they may trigger fewer symptoms than some short-haired breeds, they still produce the Fel d 1 protein, which causes allergic reactions.

We do not offer in-person visits for clients with known cat allergies. Our cattery houses multiple breeds, including Bengals (which are considered more allergy-friendly), and exposure to different cats may cause a strong reaction.

However, we deeply respect and care about all our potential clients. That’s why we’re excited to announce the future opening of our PurRadise Lounge — a unique space where you’ll be able to interact with a variety of cat breeds in a calm, comfortable setting.

If you have allergies or other health sensitivities, you are very welcome to visit our lounge once it opens. You’ll have a chance to spend time with different cats and see which breed feels right for you — including Sphynx cats (hairless cats), which may cause fewer allergic reactions.

Do you offer a health guarantee for your kittens?

Yes. At Royal Maine Coon Cattery, the health and well-being of our kittens is our highest priority. We proudly offer a comprehensive health guarantee with every kitten:

1-year genetic health guarantee against life-threatening congenital or inherited conditions
2-year guarantee against hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) — one of the most common heart conditions in Maine Coons
All parent cats are DNA-tested for PKDef, PRA, SMA, and HCM
All kittens are fully vaccinated, dewormed, and vet-checked before leaving our cattery

Our kittens are raised in a home environment with love, attention, and close observation to ensure strong immune systems and healthy development.

Should I get a male or female Maine Coon?

Both male and female Maine Coon cats make wonderful, affectionate companions — but there are some personality and grooming differences to consider:

Males are usually larger, more laid-back, and tend to be silly, playful, and a bit more needy. They love attention and often act like “gentle giants.”

Females are also playful, but usually more elegant, independent, and observant. They tend to be cleaner and more self-grooming.

🪮 Grooming tip: Male Maine Coons are generally lazier when it comes to grooming, so you may need to brush a male more frequently than a female to prevent tangles and mats.

Ultimately, the choice depends on your lifestyle and what kind of energy or personality you're looking for — both genders are affectionate, loyal, and intelligent.

What should I get before getting a kitten?

Before welcoming your new Maine Coon or Bengal kitten home, it's important to prepare your space with the essentials for a smooth transition. Here's a checklist of must-have items for your kitten starter kit:

Kitten food – We recommend Royal Canin Kitten (dry and wet, same brand)

Cat treats – Healthy snacks for bonding and training

Food and water dishes – Preferably stainless steel or ceramic

Litter box and litter – We suggest wood pellets or any clumping litter

Cat scratching post or tree – Great for exercise and healthy claws

Cat carrier – For safe transportation to and from the vet or cattery

I saw you have 3 different breeds. Which one will be perfect for me?

At our cattery, we currently offer three wonderful breeds: Bengals, Maine Coons, and Scottish Folds — each with their own unique personality, temperament, and care needs. Here's how they compare:

Bengals

Personality: Athletic, intelligent, curious, and talkative
Perfect for: Active households, experienced cat owners
Note: Bengals are not lap cats — they usually don’t enjoy being held and prefer independence with interactive play
Bonus: Known to be more hypoallergenic than most other breeds

Maine Coons

Personality: Gentle, loving, social, and “dog-like”
Perfect for: Families with kids, other pets, or first-time cat owners
Note: Maine Coons often love to be held and enjoy human affection
Care: Their long, luxurious coat requires regular grooming

Scottish Folds

Personality: Sweet, quiet, calm, and affectionate in their own way
Perfect for: Peaceful homes, cat lovers who appreciate subtle charm
Note: Though small and adorable, Scottish Folds usually prefer gentle interaction and may not enjoy excessive attention or being picked up too often
