I would like to share my personal and deeply disappointing experience with a breeder named Alena Barabash, the owner of the cattery SharmMuar.

In January, I purchased a silver NS11 female (Shedded Line) from this breeder for $4000, with full breeding rights. The cat arrived to me in early March, and was temporarily kept in a holding area for nearly a month.
It wasn't until after some time that I noticed the cat had severely twisted back legs, and potentially hip dysplasia.
I want to be transparent and acknowledge that I lacked experience in evaluating rear leg structure, so I did not spot the issue immediately. However, that does not change the fact that the deformity was present from the beginning — and no amount of time would have made her legs "straighten out." The problem was congenital.
When I reached out to the breeder to express my concerns, I was met with an utterly shocking response: She stated that "breeding cats with twisted legs is completely normal", and even went as far as to say that "hip dysplasia is part of serious, grown-up breeding — and it’s cool."
As someone who has worked with multiple breeds for many years and is well known within the international breeder community, I was stunned, appalled, and outraged by this response.
I'm a non-confrontational person by nature and always try to work things out privately with other breeders. But this... this went beyond anything I could have expected.
This was not just unprofessional. This was dangerous.
I then consulted with several trusted breeder colleagues — and to my shock, I learned that this breeder has a long-standing bad reputation. Unfortunately, there is no public trace of it online — nothing on Google, Yandex, or Facebook. Most likely, negative feedback has been deleted or suppressed through paid removals.
But this time will be different.
This story will be shared on my high-traffic website, in both English and Russian, with screenshots, voice messages, video, and every piece of supporting evidence attached.
Because people deserve the truth.
Because irresponsible breeders must be held accountable.
Because selling a cat with orthopedic issues for $4000 as a "breeding-quality" animal is deceptive, unethical, and unacceptable.
Breeding is not about money. It’s about responsibility.
This is not “normal.” This is not “cool.” This is a disgrace.
I will not stay silent.
I owe it to my clients, my fellow breeders, and most of all — to the animals we claim to care for.

В январе я приобрела у неё кошку окраса NS11 (Shedded Line) за $4000, с целью разведения. Кошка приехала ко мне в начале марта и почти месяц находилась на передержке. Только спустя время я заметила, что у неё кривые задние лапы, а возможно даже дисплазия.
У меня не было достаточного опыта в оценке задних конечностей, и вначале я не придала этому значения. Но это не значит, что проблема появилась позже — она была изначально, и с возрастом лапки не "выровнялись" бы сами собой.
Когда я обратилась с этим вопросом к заводчице, её ответ просто потряс меня до глубины души. Она уверенно заявила, что разведение кошек с кривыми лапами — это абсолютно нормально, и более того, дисплазия — это, цитирую, "по-взрослому и круто".
Честно? За все годы моей работы с разными породами кошек я впервые услышала такое.
Меня знают во многих породных кругах, и я всегда стараюсь договариваться, не ищу конфликтов и не выношу споры в публичное поле.
Но в данном случае я была в шоке, в глубоком шоке. И в гневе.
Я просто не могу молчать, когда заводчик с холодной уверенностью называет дисплазию "крутой темой" для разведения.
Это непрофессионально, безответственно и отвратительно по отношению как к породе, так и к будущим владельцам котят.
Позже, обсудив эту ситуацию с другими заводчиками, выяснилось, что у данного питомника очень плохая репутация, просто в интернете нет ни одного упоминания — всё зачищено. Ни в Google, ни в Яндексе, ни на Facebook.
Очевидно, что негатив был либо удалён, либо "прикрыт" платно.
Но теперь всё будет иначе.
Я размещу всю информацию на своём сайте с высоким международным трафиком, на русском и английском языках — с переписками, голосовыми, видео и фото доказательствами.
Таких заводчиков нужно сразу останавливать.
Это не племенная работа — это вред породе.
Это не развитие — это откат назад.
Это не ответственность — это паразитирование на доверии.
Я не могу остаться в стороне. Я не имею на это морального права.
